Wetland Restoration

The Belle Fourche Wetland Mitigation Bank is a new, 44-acre restoration project located near Rapid City, South Dakota in the Middle Cheyenne Elk watershed (HUC 10120111). The Bank will create and re-establish around 22 acres of wetland habitat north of the main stem of Elk Creek. When complete, the project will improve floodplain connectivity to support flood resiliency, water quality, and regional biodiversity.
