ILF Program

The 297-acre Markham Ravine Mitigation Site restores wetland habitat in Placer County, California. WES worked with Placer County and the ILF Program to complete the project. The restoration of historic vernal pool complexes is recognized as a priority in the Placer County Conservation Plan (PCCP) as a result of the historic and ongoing losses to the vernal pool landscape.

The mitigation site supports restored wetland habitats connected by swales and interspaced by annual grasslands, reestablishing wetland complexes similar to what historically occurred in the region by restoring irrigated pasture.
