Species Conservation

WES's pending Buck Ridge Conservation Bank is located in Madera County, California, and spans 1,160 acres. The site is dedicated to the long-term preservation and management of species habitat, supporting a range of federally listed species, including California tiger salamander, Hairy Orcutt grass, Swainson's hawk, western spadefoot toad, and vernal pool fairy shrimp. The permanent protection of this Bank contributes to regional species conservation efforts by expanding the network of protected areas and creating improved habitat linkages between existing conservation lands.

This bank builds upon the success of WES's Dutchman Creek Conservation Bank and Piedra Azul Conservation Bank, both of which are now sold out of credits.
